Menopause Drug Has Over 10,000 Cancer Claims

The worlds largest pharmaceutical manufacturer is settling more lawsuits over it's menopause drug. Pfizer's hormone-replacement drugs called Prempro and Premarin have been linked to breast cancer. Today Pfizer added $68 million dollars (according to the Securities & Exchange Commission filing) to a reserve of $772 million for the lawsuits pending..
More than 6 million women have taken Prempro to treat symptoms including hot flashes and mood swings before these Prempro and Premarin were linked to cancer. We will never know how many women these drugs have truly harmed, many have died in previous years and cannot bring their cases to trial. Wyeths still sells these drugs for menopause symptoms and some women don't know alternative exists beyond hormone replacement therapy.
